Our new album "White Crosses" leaked. No drama. For those of you who have heard it and would like to read the lyrics, here you go!
1. White Crosses
I wake up in the morning and I drink from the fountain.
I wake up in the morning with the same unanswered questions.
I don’t know what’s going to cure my unsettled stomach.
Street kids collect spare change in a conch shell on the side walk; their teeth are yellow, their hair is tangled.
Their minds are vapid and they laugh wild in their depravity.
I’ll make my way back home to you, head north on San Marco Avenue.
White crosses on the church lawn, I want to smash them all.
I want to smash them all.
Pony tails swinging back and forth behind beach blonde college girls out for a jog.
Saint Augustine, shine your light down on me!
Pop hits from the 90’s echo out of tourist filled bars.
I am met with arms crossed under dirty looks, I am treated like a common thief.
I’ll make my way back home to you, head north on San Marco Avenue.
White crosses on the church lawn, I want to smash them all.
I want to smash them all.
Eaves-dropping in on conversation, I wander aimless leering at strangers.
Strung out on the amphetamines that you gave to me.
Eye-balled with suspicion by a pencil skirt in high heels, you realize that you’re talking to yourself.
Cannon fire explodes out over the bay.
I’ll make my way back home to you, head north on San Marco Avenue.
White crosses on the church lawn, I want to smash them all.
Looking for context and perspective, looking for some kind of distraction.
White crosses on the church lawn, I want to smash them all.
I want to smash them all.
2. I Was A Teenage Anarchist
I was a teenage anarchist, looking for a revolution. I had the style, I had the ambition. I read all the authors, I knew the right slogans. There was no war but the class war. I was ready to set the world on fire. I was a teenage anarchist, looking for a revolution.
Do you remember when you were young and you wanted to set the world on fire?
I was a teenage anarchist, but the politics were too convenient. In the depths of their humanity all I saw was bloodless ideology. And with freedom as the doctrine, guess who was the new authority? I was a teenage anarchist, but the politics were too convenient.
Do you remember when you were young and you wanted to set the world on fire?
I was a teenage anarchist, but then the scene got too rigid. It was a mob mentality, they set their rifle sights on me. Narrow visions of autonomy, you want me to surrender my identity. I was a teenage anarchist, the revolution was a lie.
Do you remember when you were young and you wanted to set the world on fire?
I was a teenage anarchist.
3. Because Of The Shame
We used to get high together, instead of getting high alone. I can’t remember the last time I saw you. I can’t remember the last time we talked. You left home for a fresh start, working as a waitress down in Bradenton. With my name tattoo’d into your skin.
Because of the shame I associate with vulnerability I am numbing myself completely.
Can you hear me right now?
I watched your mother bury you today, with tears in her eyes.
It wasn’t her words that shook me, it was the resemblance you shared.
Don’t it feel so detached and unreal? Don’t it seem so far away? Like the past never happened, or like nothings ever changed. With your casket open in front of me, your eyes closed and your lips silent. With my name tattoo’d into your skin.
Because of the shame I associate with vulnerability I am numbing myself completely.
Can you hear me right now?
I watched your mother bury you today, with tears in her eyes.
It wasn’t her words that shook me, it was the resemblance you shared.
I didn’t listen to the preacher. I couldn’t look your husband in the eyes. I’m not sure what I meant to you then, so I’m not sure what I owe you now. But if something I said hurt you I swear it was not my intention. With your name tattoo’d into my skin.
Because of the shame I associate with vulnerability I am numbing myself completely.
Can you hear me right now?
I watched your mother bury you today, with tears in her eyes.
It wasn’t her words that shook me, it was the resemblance you shared.
4. Suffocation
We were young heartbreakers estranged from our wealthy parents, doing key bumps in a handicap bathroom.
Stoned complacent, ambivalent, mass communicating with shared subconscious.
Suffocation.
Modern life in the western world.
Homosexual sons of unfulfilled fathers.
Divorced from reality, free and young.
We were bashing our brains out on a kitchen cabinet.
It was a televised crucifixion.
Suffocation.
Modern life in the western world.
We were star-crossed, we were destitute.
Our words spoke mass destruction.
We watched the sun rise in the morning.
Daughters in arm, we all are orphans.
Suffocation.
Modern life in the western world.
In the western world.
5. We’re Breaking Up
This is the only voice I know.
These are the only words I have.
This is the only way I know how to say, we’re not in love anymore.
It’s the same way that it’s always been, the dynamic to the relationship never changes.
It’s the same way that it’s always been, the dynamic to the relationship never changes.
We used to like all the same bands.
We used to have all the same friends.
What do we have left in common?
Just shared memories of good times long since past.
It’s the same way that it’s always been, the dynamic to the relationship never changes.
It’s the same way that it’s always been, the dynamic to the relationship never changes.
You can’t get what you want from me, and I can’t get what I need from you.
This is the only voice I know.
These are the only words I have.
This is the only way I know how to say, we're breaking up.
It’s the same way that it’s always been.
It’s the same way that it’s always been.
I’m not giving up on us.
I’m not giving up on us.
6. High Pressure Low
There was a high pressure low developing off the coast of Africa, uplift in the atmosphere pushed waves across the ocean towards Antilles and Bon Air. I paced in Agitation. I drew the curtains closed. I turned the air conditioner on. I pressed a warm wash cloth to my face. Somewhere out there a hurricane was coming.
There’s just no future left for us to dream of,
living in an era of instability.
So caught up in the culture of their rivals,
fear breeds in honest men.
It’s a high pressure low.
7 missiles flying over the sea of japan. Tales of feral children sleeping in wolf dens. And the pious preacher commands. I hold my breath in anticipation. Into the shelter of the jungle noble savages run. Vestal virgins triumph over life long inhibitions. And I wonder, what is real? What is fiction?
There’s just no future left for us to dream of,
living in an era of instability.
So caught up in the culture of their rivals,
fear breeds in honest men.
It’s a high pressure low.
Would anyone forgive Robert McNamara? In retrospect he had to admit; there was mistake in going to war without first asking all the questions.
Yes, Robert Strange McNamara, there are those who just cannot forget. And I wonder, have I lost my own compassion?
There’s just no future left for us to dream of,
living in an era of instability.
So caught up in the culture of their rivals,
fear breeds in honest men.
It’s a high pressure low.
7. Ache With Me
I’ve walked down high streets looking through windows.
I’ve been lost in crowds of strangers.
Searched record shops and cosmetic aisles, phone books, want ads, bus stops and libraries.
Newspaper headlines, mannequin faces, television stations, billboard advertisements.
Your voice echos in the back of my mind.
I see your face when I close my eyes.
Do you share the same sense of defeat?
Have you realized all the things you’ll never be?
Ideals turn to resentment, open minds close up with cynicism.
I’ve got no judgement for you.
Come on and ache with me.
Through bar rooms, cafés, jail cells and court rooms. Theaters, restaurants, graveyards and churches. I’ve spent every dollar that I’ve ever earned. I’ll bleed my heart out, I’ll give every word. I’ve asked preachers, doctors and lawyers, socialites, pariahs, mothers and fathers. You may not find all that you’re after, in the end I hope it doesn’t matter.
Do you share the same sense of defeat?
Have you realized all the things you’ll never be?
Ideals turn to resentment, open minds close up with cynicism.
I’ve got no judgement for you.
Come on and ache with me.
Do you share the same sense of defeat?
Have you realized all the things you’ll never be?
I’ve got no judgement for you.
Come on and ache with me.
8. Spanish Moss
You just need to find some place to get away.
You can forget your name.
And there’s no need to apologize.
It could be a good life.
It could be such a very good life.
We could find a place for just me and you.
Need some place to stay safe, need some place to stay safe and warm.
Why don’t we deserve the same?
You just need to find some place to get away.
You can forget your name.
And there’s no need to apologize.
Look into the Spanish moss.
Let your mind conjure up old ghosts.
Ride you bike through lost Florida streets.
Everything we’ve said and done, can be so easily forgotten.
You can always change who you are.
You just need to find some place to get away.
You can forget your name.
And there’s no need to apologize.
I caught a glimpse of this life, it could be such a very good life.
We could find a place for just me and you.
But it’s not yours to keep.
Yeah, the truth will tear your heart out.
In a world run by gangsters you’re stuck standing in a bread line.
You just need to find some place to get away.
You can forget your name.
And there’s no need to apologize.
9. Rapid Decompression
How much is too much?
I’m tired of predicting to lose.
But before you point your finger, before you cast your stones, take a look at yourself.
How can you expect from someone what you won’t do yourself?
There’s no bottom to your reality.
Your desperation is utter and complete.
What you can’t love about yourself you have to steal from someone else; and what you can’t steal you have to deny.
Rapid Decompression.
Sometimes it feels like your whole world is coming to an end.
10. Bamboo Bones
Don’t let them break you.
Don’t let them tell you who you are.
Doesn’t matter where you come from,
you'll always have a floor to sleep on.
And you have your bamboo bones,
nervous energy,
blind ambition,
skin of your teeth.
Push back, push back, push back,
with every word and every breath.
What god doesn’t give to you,
you’ve got to go and get for yourself.
I’m embarrassed to admit it,
I’ve got no grip.
I’m leading with my jaw.
Can you see it from a distance?
Does it look ridiculous?
I guess that’s just what I have to live with.
Still I have a mind to think,
knees to break,
you standing beside me.
I’m going to push back, push back, push back,
with every word and every breath.
What god doesn’t give to you,
you’ve got to go and get for yourself.

dope.
it's unfortunate with technology nowadays, it happens.
wow Mr. Gabel. I can't thank you enough, thanks for selling out and giving us music for free.
Wow! Excellent job posting lyrics and responding to the unfortunate news of your leak Mr. Gabel. I still have yet to get around to figuring out my own lyrics to post proper finished versions of them; maybe in a few years I'll do that.
Bakunin was a sexagenarian anarchist. Proudhon was a quinquagenarian anarchist. Yes I had to look those up, but you get the point.
thank you sir. i will be buying this on cd and vinyl when it comes out. are the ten songs that leaked the album, or will there be more to it?
White Crosses is outstanding, Tom! It's incredibly unique, and much like every other Against Me! record, it has really moved me. Although, I am a little bummed there's only 10 songs and not 12, haha. Anyway, can't wait to pick up the vinyl when the time comes, and also listen to it on summer nights. And catch you on tour at some point! Give 'em hell! Please check out my blog if you get the chance. It's just got a couple of reviews up. http://thisisjustsurvival.blogspot.com/

Hey Tom I'm sorry it got leaked. I sincerely feel bad (after the SFAFC debacle) to hear that after you put in all the work someone took it out of your hands. I'm still not sure if I want to wait for the release or find it online, but more than anything I have immense respect for you for not getting pissed. I would rage. Thanks man, and COME TO BOSTON ON THE TOUR.
i've been listening to the album for the entirety of yesterday and tonight. i'll be buying it asap
I feel bad it leaked, but I will most likely be downloading this soon. I love your music a lot, to know it's out there and I can't hear it is painful, haha.
That will not stop me from buying the album when it comes available at our record store.
all bullshit aside, the band and you make fan-fucking-tastic records. You are one awesome dude for taking it so easy. I hope you do well this tour and many more to come.
A different type of album, will take some getting used to. It seems the Band is going in a different direction with this album. I liked white crosses, rapid decompression and bamboo bones. But for gods sake Tom enough with the melancholy and hopelessness, where is the angst and energy that we have grown to love.
I'm sure that Against Me has got the type of fans that will download this now and make sure to buy it when it comes out (as opposed to people who would rather download the movie "Wolverine" then pay for it in theatres). I'm absolutely positive. It's just a different relationship to the art.
Is there a deluxe album for White Crosses planned at all?
This is the only album I have ever felt bad about downloading. I am seriously contemplating mailing Sire Records $13(although I will be buying the vinyl).
Either way fantastic album and you are a total bad ass for posting the lyrics. I really enjoyed seeing you guys in Orlando, St.Pete and Gainesville and I look forward to seeing you again.
We're Breaking Up is about Warren isn't it?
Like always when a record I really want - I don't listen to it until it the LP drops down in my mail box. I haven't senn you on youtube or anything. Really looking forward to getting it!
The writing on this album could be some if the best you've produced yet. I'm in love with every song and will buy it when it comes out, or maybe wait until I see you guys at bonnaroo and buy it there. Either way. Bravo!
The production is obviously very slick but the songs are there. I like the lyrics a lot.
Good job Tom.
The entire band did an outstanding job! White Crosses is an amazing album with well written lyrics. I can’t wait to get my hard copy! Thank you for posting the lyrics as well!
I wont lie, I probably will download it now when its out there. Cuz i dont have the willpower to wait until the release. But I will buy the cd and vinyl later, you guys rule!
Dear Tom,
Thank you so much for not getting mad at us who listened to the leak. I felt really dirty listening to it, but I couldn't help myself! It's so glorious!
And of course if you knew me, you would know that I'm buying that sucker as soon as it's legally released, because I love your band with all my heart. You have a really loyal fan base especially on the forum and I think most of them plan on getting hard copies too.
You guys made a hell of an album though, let me tell you that; The sing-alongs on this tour are going to be AMAZING...
Cheers.
Helping out to spread the lyrics over at http://www.lukinzine.se. Not the music, just the lyrics. I am not a vampire!
Thanks Tom, it was really good of you to post these, man. I love this album, especially now that you're actually singing properly, and I'll be buying it as soon as it's available :)
Was the version that leaked the final version, or is the version that releases in June going to have twelve tracks? :)
tom, you're so awesome.
damn yo really nice of you not to get pissed about this. as much as its killing me not to, i am going to wait to listen to the album when it comes out. in fact i'm not even going to read these lyrics. this anticipation is KiLLING ME but i look forward to the payoff of my patience when i get to flip through the insert and blast the record out of my stereo
Can't wait to hear this on 180g virgin wax!!!!!!
This will be my first bought album in four years. I might even get two and hand one away to a friend.
Recalling Rehasher's amount of sold albums, in contrast to the money spent on creating it, downloading is getting tiresome and extremely selfish.
I'm really liking it, but...
I WISH YOU SAID 'BAMBOO BONES' MORE!!!
I love the way it sounds!!
Heard some new songs a couple weeks ago from you guys in Vancouver, BC. They sounded great. Super excited to hear the rest.
Tom, I am sorry to be so blantant and I promise to buy your album and maybe even a t-shirt (depends on the art), but can someone please email me a link to the album? My email is jenkaplan@yahoo.com.
Why aren't you angry anymore?
This CD isn't all that bad.
But really... "come on and ache with me"
What happened to the angry pissed off Tom from Reinventing?
You sound sad in this CD...
Be angry again...
Please...
Don't get me wrong, I'm still gonna buy the CD, still gonna go to the shows, and all that, I was just hoping to hear more anger in this album as opposed to the last one.
-AA!
Hey, man. This is a really great album. I love all of it, and these are some of your best lyrics yet. My only criticism is the repetition. And don't get me wrong, the production value is AWESOME, but it wouldn't hurt to make it a little more gritty and not so polished, yknow?
album of the year
Can I just say.. Wow?
These lyrics are absolutely beautiful. I will be buying to cd when it comes out, along with the vinyl, and you can expect to see me at your show in Kingston!
Sorry to hear about the leak. Hopefully people will be decent enough to spend the money on the album when it comes out, and not completely take advantage of this bad luck.
Dear Tom,
I stole your album off the Internet. I'm sorry. To make up for it when it is released for real I will be buying a copy and politely asking all my friends to do the same. This album is amazing. Your usual lyrical holy-shittery has met some balling producers and of course your always amazing band. This album goes home after work and has a beer with Crime and Former Clarity. Take some time off and write some short stories, write some poems, because you, sir, are an artist.
Tom, you're great. I'll buy the album the day it comes out. Keep being amazing and making great art. You're one of the few talented artists our right now. Against Me! fans know better than to download music and not support you by buying the album, don't worry. Thanks for the lyrics!
awesome, thank you!
good on you for posting the lyrics tom. i have to say though, 'i was a teenage anarchist' offers a terribly crude analysis of what anarchism is supposed to mean. i completely understand your desire to publicly distance yourself from some of your earlier songs - but the 'rigid' politics and the 'mob mentality' is an overly simplistic way to present a complicated and diverse branch of historically rooted theoretical principles - principles that extend far beyond the realms of the morons you seem to have crossed paths with on your many travels.
It just makes me cringe when I see yet another person (whom i greatly respect) perpetuate the myth that you must 'grow out' of radical politics. it suggests anarchism is only for naive and misguided hypocrites - which is not always so; it's never that black and white.
its not about being young and wanting to set the world on fire, it's simply about being human and wanting to live in a world that is human; a world that is fair and equal.
alas, another soul lost to the status quo... it is easier to swim with the tide than against it, eh tom?
Mr. Gabel, I just wanted to say that your wife has really great tits!
-mattramone
Tom after reading the rest of the commenters it almost doesn't need to be said but just for the record. A: I really admire how you've chosen to handle the leak. B: The album is incredible I'm on my 13th play now and it's still getting better with each spin. I found the leaked copy randomly and by accident at 3am the other morning waited for it to download went into the basic looking for my "big" headphones (it was 3:30 am afterall) and listened to the album three times cover to cover before I went to sleep. C: Whenever this is actually released I will be purchasing my copy D: I think I'll be moving to Asia pretty soon and will be terribly sad if I don't get a chance to see you guys live before I leave, so come to Halifax or keep playing summer sonic and fuji just in case.
Sincerely, probably not your number one fan, some of these people are friggin' nuts for you, but a pretty serious fan none the less. Keep on rocking!!!
Wow, you sure have a lot of people sucking your dick. Your album sucked.
'alas, another soul lost to the status quo... it is easier to swim with the tide than against it, eh tom?'
'Wow, you sure have a lot of people sucking your dick. Your album sucked.'
Don't even bother saying that you haven't changed in the last ten to thirteen years. Because you have changed. Change is a good thing. And White Crosses is a good change.
Holy molY! No jokes, no gimmicks; straight business. Tom - I'd drink bottled water with you any day!
Chicka, ahhh
I really miss Against Me! circa 2002. I, like others who have posted, also miss the anger that use to come across in your music.
I know that bands have to change and grow but I unfortunately don't relate to the places Against Me! is going.
I wish you guys would revisit the inspiration of "Ya'll Don't Want to Step to Dis." Possibly my favourite song :)
I'll always love Against Me but to be honest, I won't be purchasing this new album.
Geez, this is like a break-up!!
You can't stay angry forever people, get over it. If you love the old stuff, listen to the old stuff. This album is fantastic. Well done and well handled Tom.
the album sucks. you're a bitch.
Tom, I hope you realize how much it means that you have fans who would listen to and download a leaked CD and still buy the real thing.
I had almost every album of Against Me downloaded and have followed through with my promise to buy every CD in its physical form.
I know theres a bunch of nay-sayers out there, but you still have a loving fan base who supports you and the band. I would be honored to know that I had a following of such honest people
Tom, I was blown away by this record. This tops New Wave musically and in production value by a mile. Truly amazing work, man. I can't wait to buy it on vinyl in June. Thank you.

"my shitting is more original sounding than the new Against Me! record." - Jason Pettigrew
anyone know what the deal is with this jason pettigew guy? like what happened that he and tom are hating on each other so much?
All I know is he's a professional blogger, and that there are no more uniquely worthless people on earth.
Alright this thread is getting nasty so I JUST NEED TO SAY: I love when anonymous people can say asshole things here they would never say to someone in person because they can hide behind their anonymity and possible masked jealousy... Last time I checked (a short while ago) sucking someones dick is not synonymous with liking their album. Speak for yourself and at least own what you say.
Tom, god knows i love you, and give you more than a fair shot when i listen to your music, but white crosses is fucking awful. I don't have an account on here, so it's anonymous, but here's my myspace www.myspace.com/corlis
Dude, You've done good work. I think it's time to do something different though. Something really different.
I find it funny that people believe a band belongs to them more than it does to the artist. Way to be yourself Tom and compose music you want regardless of what people say you have to be. Great album and I'll be picking it up on vinyl as soon as it hits shelves.
-Mike
Fucking haters..The album was good. It wasn't no Reinventing, but hey I'm sure he know what he's doing. I couldn't care-less where Tom goes with his music. I just hope he keeps writing. I'm a fan and a true fan. I always anticipate every album release...
People will respect where ever the music goes and where ever Tom and the band want to take it. I don't think people believe the band belongs to them necessarily, I just believe some people fell in love with something else. Bands change, artists will obviously grow and evolve into something new, something better that they want. AM! fans that have been listening to the music for five, ten years originally got hooked on something and miss that.
I personally was looking for a song or two on this album that resembled that old style, it isn't there and thats fine. This album to some of us just doesn't sound like the AM! that we fell in love with back in the day.
And again, I understand bands evolve and musicians want to take there music in the direction they want. That old coarse sound is gone and now they have a new clean sound. There's just a big difference when you compare the two. It seems that this CD, and maybe even the last one, are geared toward a new audience?
Oh well...
Keep on rockin' Tom, AM! is still amazing and I can't wait to see you guys come back to Chicago, maybe hear an old song or two.
Dearest Tommy,
You probably don't like it when people call you Tommy, so I apologize, but I just needed to grab your attention amongst these love/hate comments.
First off I would like to congratulate you an an outstanding album! I have listened to it about 10 times on loop today, and think it is absolutely beautiful! The way you turned the acoustic versions that I witnessed last year at the Cafe Eleven show in St. Augustine into these full-band, dynamic beasts is beyond me. But kudos to you cuz they turned out great!
Furthermore, I enjoy hearing about artists' decision-making when recording albums and such, so do you think that you will ever post an entry discussing you recording experience and decisions when making this album? For example: what made you go with a slower drum pace on the song "white crosses?" Acoustically, one would imagine a fast-paced beat, however I think the song turned out great and surprised listeners. Also, what made you guys scrap the "fast-paced breakdown" (as internet kids these days were calling it) at around 2 minutes into "Suffocation?" It was a great part, but I also feel that the new breakdown is equally amazing!
None of this is meant to detract from the overall sheer "awesomocity" of this album, but I am just oh so very curious.
Finally, will we ever hear any potential b-sides? Such as "Lehigh Acres," or THIS SONG?
http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=5ulMZSZx7dY&feature=related
Because those are also of equally epic proportions. They are like a soundgasm to my ears.
Anyways, pardon the long-ass comment, and I don't expect an answer really, seeing as you probably have better things to do than read everyone's opinions/answer everyone's questions, but maybe you'll surprise me with an answer, much like the quality of this album surprised me by exceeding my already high expectations.
Thank you for such great music over the years! Tom, you're an influence, a gentleman, AND a scholar!
-Sean
[P.S. I can only imagine the frustration a professional musician must deal with upon learning his or her hard work has been prematurely (heh...) released, but I just couldn't resist. I also fully plan on obtaining a copy of the CD and vinyl, as well as whatever "White Crosses" merch you will have to offer. My apologies for contributing to the problem with illegal downloading, but maybe I can buy you a beer with my fake ID I'm getting with the name Brendan Kelly on it... heh]
Tom, please hang yourself for unleashing this awful, generic, and, most of all, anti-Semitic album on the world.
Colin @ www.distortedperspective.com/
Mr. Gabel, you treat your fans very well.
Thanks for the thought and work you put into this album, can't wait until i can buy it.
Wait, how is White Crosses anti-semitic?
This is the only album I have ever downloaded. Sorry dude. Needed some inspiration. Haven't been finding it as of late, was hoping this may help.
Great album, great songwriting, choked to death by it's production value. From what I saw, these songs fucking SLAY live, but Butch Vig clearly can't make it translate in the studio, and it's a damn shame.
You guys always had this fucking huge sound and soul live that just hasn't translated on the last 2 recordings (although it translated better on New Wave), even though you've still got it live. It's obvious what the weak link is (not to say he is bad- fuck, he's great- but maybe not great for Against Me!?). Everything is so sterile, and that combined with the fact that your sound is evidently too huge for Butch Vig to capture is the only thing dragging this down.
Still a solid album, keep it up. Bamboo Bones may be one of the best things you have ever done. I hope you are proud of it, and I envy your song writing abilities.
Man, you guys used to be cool.
You guys suck now like Weezer. Sorry.
ah... now i understand, anarchists are the REAL cops! tom, if it weren't for your ever-expansively vain lyrics i would have never known!
Sean. Don't beg dude...
Sean------- DON"T BEG DUDE....
Great album Tom. Can't wait to buy it, and hear it live. I love how you guys are continuing to venture around with your sound. Keep expanding and exploring.
Well....at least it sounds good. I'll still buy a copy when it comes out if it means you guys keep playing music.
One of my favorite things about Against Me! is that every album is different than the last, constantly growing and changing artistically. Unfortunately, there are a lot of backward, regressive assholes in this world, elitist ideologues who are so obsessed with putting down others to give their empty lives a sense of purpose who are going to deride artistic development and success as selling out. Fuck 'em.
Tom, thanks for another great album. Because of the Shame hits home pretty hard. Seriously, excellent work. Here's hoping I see you in New York soon.
Tom- Yet again another collection of incredibly meaningful and powerful lyrics. Thank you for continuing to help me fucking get through every day. I've loved you guys since the 8th grade and won't stop listening anytime soon!
-Jeff
Great album, can't wait until I buy it. Love the lyrics on this. Start those preorders up!
Oh sorry, I didn't mean to sound begging....
It was more of an immensely excited frenzy due to the kickassery of this record...
about teenage anarchist. this song personally offends me. for those of us who grow up at odds with the world/mainstream society, values; for those of us who werent so lucky to find ourselves a good place in the world playing with our band...we want to set it on fire 100 times more as adults. its not fashion or a fad for us. its life. all teenagers are anarchists...think about it
that said, i do still believe you are the most important force in recent music
ouch, that was a classic example of what Brendan Kelly refers to on his blog as the "German compliment"
haha
I couldn't wait until June. I'm sorry. I saw you live a few weeks ago and had been singing White Crosses to myself ever since. I had watched a couple YouTube videos of it too, but wanted a version on my iPod. Then I saw the leak and had to be an asshole and go find it online.
So I did, but I promise to buy the album when it comes out. Promise.
By the way, as one of your older fans (35) I appreciate the progression in both music and views (I too no longer want to set the world on fire). I still love Walking is still Honest and the sort, but there's nothing long with the mellow and more produced sound. But when you're up on stage, don't forget to break out the high energy stuff that makes you so good.
I thought New Wave was as bad as you could get. Apparently I was mistaken.
This is like The Replacements meets 'Animal Boy' era Ramones, brilliant.
Soo Good!! Had to download it..I couldn't wait after hearing a couple of the new songs @ Seattle Show.. I SWEAR I'll buy it when it comes out!! Amazing record!!!! Thanks for the lyrics as well!!!
I will listen to it now, but I will also buy it and a few copies for my friends. I always do the same. So, thanks Tom, much appreciated. You are still the coolest dudes in rock'n'roll ... and as a favour, I'll never refer to AM! again as "folk punk" ;-)
Album is awesome. Fuck all the stupid bloggers who think they know what you should and shouldn't play. Just be yourself because that's what's really cool! Teenage Anarchist at Common Grounds was sick by the way!
- Gainesville Lurker
Wow - LOVE the new direction. Piano, cool guitar riffs, and as always, a sweet melody! Good job boys, move on and keep it up! ;-)
"It was more of an immensely excited frenzy due to the kickassery of this record..."
SEAN- Tha sounds more like you're a sincere fan..good work..
@SEAN..."ouch, that was a classic example of what Brendan Kelly refers to on his blog as the "German compliment"
....very true. I know just what you mean and I am mostly german (the lineage has its ups and downs)
...so is bob dylan dream on this thing? not to be a dick but that was the only song i heard and liked a lot from youtube...more bob dylan less springsteen! springsteen was better as an influence not a guiding light i think.
Sorry it got leaked Tom, I could'nt wait to hear the album. I can't wait to buy it on cd. Every song on here is amazing. Your lyrics move me. I like the direction you and the band moved in on this album. Reminds me of The Replacements. Cant wait for the release. Also be seeing you guys at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor MI, April 22nd. Thank You.
I couldn't resist.. I listened to the leak. But, like all of these other faithful fans, I promise to buy a hard copy.
I just want to tell you that Bamboo Bones is an exceptional song on an outstanding record. I travel on NYC subways 3 hours a day, and you've made that commute bearable for the last couple of days. I thank you for that.
Anyone who cares enough to go out of their way to insult you.. well, they still care. I know you're bigger than all this bullshit, but in case you ever have a little trouble ignoring the noise.. know this: The number of people who love, respect, and admire your talent will always outnumber the assholes who hate it.
<3
Tom, what were you thinking? All the songs showed so much promise (ok, I never liked Teenage Anarchist) and yet again a potentially great record has been completely ruined by a sugary sweet, fuck awful over production. I can almost smell the cotton candy and syrup oozing out of the speakers. Why why why?
And what the hell did Vig do to the vocals? I don't hear James at all and your voice, your beautiful and amazing voice, THE rock n roll voice of our generation, has been polished into something I barely recognise anymore AND THEN buried under a swamp of multi-tracked backing vocals.. WHY??? I just don't get it. I'm not feeling the passion, Tom. That pure, raw emotion that made me fall in love with Against Me! in the first place.
For now, I'm blaming Butch Vig. Feel free to let him take the blame. It'll be easier for me to bear, knowing that you didn't want the album to end up sounding the way it does. But if I ever meet him I can't promise I won't boot him in the nuts.
Mick.
Aaron said...
"I love this album, especially now that you're actually singing properly..."
WHAT THE FUCK??? Aaron, you're a DICK.
Mick.
All these songs sounded awesome when i saw the live versions on youtube. But after hearing the recordings think they are terrible. Easily the weakest stuff you have ever put out.
However these songs were not wrote for me and i can only respect the fact that you enjoyed writing and playing them. So good on you.
But damn, these are bad. New wave and ...Cowboy were peeks of Against me!
i was too curious and had to hear the record and it is great, the first four songs are really good. Reading the lyrics help, that was brave to post them in response to the leak, ill still buy it the first day.
Lol haters.
Now you've downloaded and hated the new album delete it and stop posting comments here about how Tom's changed.
He obviously doesn't care what you think about him.
He's making more money than ever and making music that will influence more people. Sure you don't like it but maybe Tom and the rest of the band feel they've finally hit their stride creatively.
" He's making more money than ever "
god I hope that's not what's it's about.
Brendan Kelly verbally ripped all these douchebags a new asshole with his blog post today...
That's just another reason why Beex and Tom will always be my 2 favorite musicians/lyricists/entertainers.
I envy your guys' success and friendship. It's pretty inspirational, to say the least.
Thanks again for the great music!
I think it's great that you posted the lyrics. Getting angry about leaks is pretty useless anyway, isn't it?
That being said, I'm way bummed on this record. I don't know you. I don't know what's going on in your life or how it's affected your music, and I certainly don't have anything against a guy who wants to become rich and famous from playing tunes. But making a record like "Clarity", and then putting out New Wave, followed by this pile of songs? Makes you look like a total asshole.
This leak, it's an April Fool's joke, right? "We're Breaking Up"?!? This can't be a real song. It's really, really bad, Tom. "I Was A Teenage Anarchist" is upsetting on so many levels. And when I heard the opening moments of "Suffocation", all I could think was, 'How did an Avril Lavigne song end up on my iPod?'
J. Robbins wipes with Butch Vig. We know what auto-tune sounds like, dude, and we despise it!!!
while i've stopped myself from downloading the leak in anticipation of the actual physical release, i can't help but agree with the previous comment about Robbins dominating Vig. with new wave in mind at least, SFAFC sounded way better. damn i hope that crack about autotune doesn't mean it's put to use on white crosses... my anticipation is a little bit more tentative now..
ps i saw someone ask earlier but noone really answered, is there a definitive reason why tom and that jason pettigrew dude are throwing down??? aside fomr the fact that guy seems to like obnoxious, rude comments on twitter (real tough, broooo)
I'll third the comments about J Robbins. He was the man. Compare the sound of New Wave to 'Searching..' and I know which producer I'd have chosen to make the next album. Jeez, it should have been a no-brainer.
To the guy above me who was worried about autotune being put to use.. oh man you've no idea. Avril Lavigne is about right.
And to the idiot who said 'maybe Tom and the rest of the band feel they've finally hit their stride creatively': That comment leaves me speechless. Against Me! have already put out records that are masterpieces. White Crosses isn't one of them.
Oh man, what a great album! I love what AM!'s doing now, and they successfully prove that big rock sounds can carry some lyrical weight and still be tons of fun. Congrats guys! I'll be at yr show, and I'll be picking this up on vinyl.
(psst! an AM! + Tegan/Sara US tour would make my household very happy.)
are you people serious? this album is garbage. what a pop fucking record. im glad it leaked if i had spent money on this trash id be furious. i love against me! but damn did this album suck ass. if i wanted commercial, over produced "punk" id listen to blink 182 or something. what happened to the bands Folk Rock sound?
thank god deftones dropped a new album that wasnt completely over produced. dint Butch work with Nirvana in their hay day? mustve fallen off. I hated New Wave but i downright LOATHE this album.
Toms trying too hard for external rewards and recognition. Punk bands arent supposed to go mainstream.
No wonder Warren left. Against Me! is as commercial as Lady Gaga and all the other bullshit pop stars who'll crank out tunes and videos at the drop of a hat for their label. Fuck Against ME and their stupid asses
I'm glad you guys know you have the greatest fans in the world and they'll buy your record even tho they can get it for free. i won't be buying it b/c i'm poor and i haven't bought a cd since As The Eternal Cowboy, but yeah, go you!
the comment above me cracks me up. it's like "you hve the greatest fans, but i'm not one of them" hahahahaha i doubt that's how you meant it, but still i'm laughing at it hahaha
Pip farting on a snare drum wouldve been far better
downloaded the leak. heard how shit it was and now i have no intention of buying an actual copy, and i hope the rest of you that listened to the leaked copy do the same because this is awful.
and it certainly isn't against me.
i love the new tom gabel record, white crosses. kind of wish against me! was still a band, but hey, this will do.
seriously, what ever happened to those other dudes? james? andrew? warren? they were what made against me! so great!
one question tom, who was the band backing you up on this record? i can't tell because the style is so nondescript and generic.
who wrote the songs? i heard something about tom petty having written some of these? did tim armstrong or anne preven help out at all?
anyway, they sound great and will fit flawlessly in to radio playlists, right in between train and nickleback.
Its just like Shirley Manson. Now Tom is Butch Vig's newest play pretty. Make it rain, Make it rain. I'm rolling over in my grave.
Album's alright I guess. Doesn't really sound like Against Me! anymore but what can you do. Seems to be some Green Day influences in the vocal style at times. Less Green Day influences in the next AM! record please. I can't believe I just wrote that.
Very funny Tom Gable, releasing this radio rock album to thwart off pirates. So whens the real album coming out again?
I'm gonna be honest, the production just ain't my cup of tea. It's different. I love what against me do though, always have done. Lyrically, you're still at the top of your game gabel. I mean it lacks that proper 'gets you in the pit of your stomach' track, but the lyrics are still up there with the finest. I have a lot of respect for you tom. This one will give you what you're after I'm sure.
Regards.
AM! used to give me an uneasy feeling in my stomach. And i absolutely loved it! No other modern punk band could come even close to that. But "white crosses" brought me to the brink of tears, and not in a good way. Guitars and drums that sound like they are computer generated, piano parts, vocals that lack the snarl and grit of what Tom Gabel was all about, a "ch-ha" background sound on Ache With Me that sounded like Boyzone.... WTF? I'm going to listen to Walking is Still Honest ten times now to purge my ears now. Rest in peace, Against Me!
had to listen to it, could not help myself (although I do feel a little guilty)...I will make a purchase when it comes out, like I have with all my Against Me! records...dig the tracks, but still getting used to this "New Wave"...very poppy and 80's ish. Not that that is a bad thing, just different. People change, musical interests change, things change...nothing is forever. I hope this record does very well for you guys! You have obviously put a lot of hard work into this project
couldn'r resist the temptation of listening in on your new work ...
great album (love white roses and spanish moss)... looking forward to get it for real and put it next to your other records on my shelf... and can't wait to see you guys in munich on the 24th of may ... love the location you guys chose ... great club
This would be really good if it wasn't an Against Me! record.
Hey Gabel, tell us a bit about Heather's genital grooming habits. Does she shave her pussy? She's dark-haired, so I bet that, naturally, she's got quite a hairy patch going on down there!
-MattRamone
Also, does she have black hairs that curl around her anus?
-MattRamone
Some love old AM! and hate the new stuff. I love old AM! and think they keep getting better. It's perfectly understandable that some people aren't going to like this record, but the message is clear in the music and lyrics: AM! isn't indentured to our expectations. There's some great music out there that captures what Tom thought when he was 17. Now we have some that catures what he thinks at 30. If perpetual teenagerism is what you like, then stop listening to AM! and go support Nofx. That's no insult, just go listen to what you enjoy. Today, I enjoy 'White Crosses.'
Don't worry about me pirating this album. I got half way through a listen of Teenage Anarchist and threw my computer out the window. When's the tour with Breaking Benjamin.
At first I hated this album. Then I sat down with zero distractions, and actually listened to it. Being 29 years old, married, and finally graduating from college after 12 years of life constantly getting in the way of me getting a degree, your lyrics were exactly what I needed. Kudos to you Tom. This album is fucking perfect!
I don't usually comment. When I heard the album leaked, I stole it. I didn't wanna buy it outright. New Wave definitely seemed like a transitional phase to me, and I wasn't sure where things were going. This albums sounds like it was written by a band who knows who they are, where they came from, and where they want to go. It's impressive, and I'll buy it, just like I've slowly been buying your whole discography piece by piece. This album is amazing and beautiful. It's not Reinventing Axl Rose, it's not Disco, it's not Searching..., it's a new, exciting sound that I love!
just to add after reading comments, I love the empowerment of anger-inspired punk rock and that's what drew me to AM! when a co-worker told me about them back around the time Eternal Cowboy came out, but I'm also a fan of good old rock'n'roll and powerpop (BIG STAR, RIP ALEX!!), and I have to say this album puts AM! in a small class with bands like the Hold Steady among the few great current bands producing excellent straight up rock'n'roll! Can't wait to see you guys come to Pittsburgh May 2, it'll be my 2nd AM! show and the first time in a while for me!
not gonna lie, I had to download the leak and see what was up. not that i expected it to be good, considering the sound of new wave, but you never know, right?
well, now i do.
this album is so fucking boring, so predictable, so sugar-coated and radio-friendly i dont know where to begin. the exhales in Ache With Me? wtf? the only decent song on the album, you just HAD to completely ruin with that cheese-ball shit.
I was a teenage anarchist? so now youre mocking the beliefs you lived after for years, that so many people today believe in. if anything makes me sick to my stomach, it's cowardness like this.
so you are NOT selling out and catering to a larger demographic, you are just developing musically, right? trying something "fresh", and "new". this is what some people on here claim. well, how fucking convenient then, that your musical development seems to fit in just perfectly with today's radio and music television climate, and does not break the mold just one, tiny bit.
Against Me!, you now sound like a hundred other bands out there.
you used to do something unique, and your music has inspired me to do what I do for the last 6 years.
you have lost one fan, but I'm sure that doesnt matter now.
I hope you're on your knees in a bathroom.
Jacob Webster, I agree wholeheartedly.
Tom, I just heard your insurance plan to stretch the inevitable as far as you can and it's awful. A middle of the road album that no one finds offensive or challenging.
I'm not interested. I don't think you're bad people, I just think that your aesthetic is horrible.
A little less professional, a little more upfront and confrontational.
Fuck, I can't believe I'm quoting New Wave lyrics to get my point across. Has it really gotten that bad??
'I believe in an art that cannot be compromised.
I believe all will endure, and all will overcome.
And I will sing it until I no longer remember the reason.
What was the reason?'
Do you remember the reason, Tom?
I only hope the money your new project brings in will bring you the spiritual happiness that being the hero of a generation brought. Was that not enough?
You're losing touch.
And it's obvious.
i've yet to hear the album bc i'm still holding out a glimmer of hope but i had to agree with a statement in one of the few previous comments.
i fucking hate when bands pull the "we're developing and maturing our sound" card when all theyre doing is diluting their sound for consumption by the masses. kings of leon and the hives were guilty of it too. if growing up means pussying and mellowing out like that, i want no more part in it.
Better than New Wave for sure, but still sounds like watered-down pop music. There's nothing wrong with progression, but this seems more like a calculated and intentional change in style than an organic progression of music.
If the whole album had the lyrical content and passion of Bamboo Bones it'd be great though, that track is outstanding.
Too bad the 9 before it just sound like something soccer moms put on during the car pool to practice.
But hey, I don't hate. You put in your dues and are working hard and deserve the commercial success you're recieving, it's just too bad the music had to be sacrificed to make it happen.
i hated this album. but loving the first three albums and finding new wave tolerable I felt i owed white crosses a second chance.
i sat here listening to the albums, painfully. it plays like the crap soundtrack to a Disney pseudo teenage coming of age story.
im trying to be optimistic, which can be hard as an anarchist and realist.
I thought Heart Burns was awesome and maybe Tom got writers block afterwards or something.
White Crosses is songs chaulked full of hooky choruses and pre-teen garage band lyrics. Probably perfect for you high school kids. shit if youre old enough to have a beer.
Utterly uninspiring, aspiring-to-be-top-40 bullshit. This record is basically unlistenable. Good thing sterile, saccharine pop music is a hot commodity, or else the entire project would have been an exercise in futility.
So much talent wasted.
TEENAGE ANARCHIST?? REALLY?? THAT SHIT WAS A JOKE RIGHT?
fucking one of the worst songs i've heard in so long. i hope the rest of this EP at least warrants the 6 bucks i just dropped on it.
I don't really dig this new direction...I miss that vicious passion that I guess one can grow out of.
I was bummed when I first listened to this album, since it's the direction I was fearing Against Me would go. But, people change I guess. You've put out plenty of music in the past that has made me and thousands others happy. I hope the music you're making nowadays is making you happy as well.
Thank you for doing what you love and sharing it with people, Tom. Haters gonna hate.
@Chloe: If Tom Gabel is doing what he loves, which is clearly selling out and making big dollars so he can live out the bourgeois ideal of getting married and having kids in a happy little nuclear family, how is he sharing that with any of us? I must have missed my cheque in the mail.
Oh my gosh, random anonymous user, you are so witty.
I have this website its good.It cantains lots of information about work from home
WORK FROM HOME
It was my 21st birthday yesterday [18th] and my friend and I shared a few Guiness to celebrate. All i can think of is poor Evelyn, and how James won't be coming home, but i wonder if you even remember those days, man. I wonder if you can recall the way you affected so many people in your older music, how you built up so many ideals and beliefs. I sat there kinda depressed because i knew i would never hear something like that from you again. I would never hear another "Impact", "Give it 35%", "Pints of Guiness", another "Former Clarity" and you became "Cavalier Eternal"... i'm going to school to be an English Teacher, and every day i tell my girlfriend how i don't want to live a normal life, that we can't just age. That we have to write and speak our minds always. You taught me that Tom... then apparently you forgot what the fuck it means. in respect for your former self,
-MG
ugh. listened to the leaked album with about 20 confused against me! fans (16 with the entire AM discography, 7 with AM tattoos).
If we weren't in a group we probably all would have cried. What a bunch of awful, over-produced terrible songwriting nonsense. We all even liked 4-5 songs on New Wave even though it was a pop record. I think you should quit being so upper-middle class and listening to Ted Leo if you ever want to write another good song.
and I don't give a flying fuck about your politics, by the way, so quit being so paranoid.
http://bloodybloodyicecream.tumblr.com/tagged/against_me%21
Don't lose touch!
Although, I think the album might be a bit overproduced...(totally open to taste and interpretation. I've heard the album, and I don't necessarily like all the songs)...to the complainers, this album is/was not and uncontrolled evolution, or uncontentious decision...Tom and the guys haven't "lost touch"...take a long hard listen to "Rapid Decompression" or "One by One" on the EP...pritty much sums it up, yea? There is quite a bit of hate and vitriol being released in this album, instead of directed...I love it. Why the thirst for negativity, anxiety and destruction? Are you really that small? Don't let the Reptilian complex rule your life...You are better than that...every human being is unique, amazing and capable of great things...believe in yourself! You can do it!
Sorry about this mate, unfortunately once everyone listens they definitely won't buy it. Oh well, maybe next time you will make the music instead of Butch.
Also,
we want a band that plays loud and hard every night,
and doesn't care how many people are counted at the door.
AM used to be a good band. Now it's just mediocre generica crap. It doesn't make me sad because i'm one of those opposite to what teenage anarchist stand for... i'm still angry... this record sucks, i hope capitalism is better to you than anarchism, but it sure stinks...
I love these lyrics. Every single song. It's all great.
yeah i agree with some of the comments though. the lyrics are amazing. it's a little repetitive like instrumental wise. you guys are still amazingly talented, but i have to say this isn't my favorite album, but it's not horrible.. just a little like, generic i guess? i feel bad for saying that though.
But it's what happens in the music business. Change. People just don't want to accept that and the fact that you guys are successful. Keep on playing guys. You're amazing. Wow I need to get my story straight. :]
we want a band that places loud and hard every night
and doesn't care how many people come in at the door.
Bye Tom. We'll miss you over here. We'll always miss you. Once you find everything you're looking for, (I'm sure you will) I hope you look back on it happy, and that you beileve it was worth it.
So I'll say with not bitterness, good luck in everything you do in the future. This is my last AM! post. To the rest of the people above who are angry, disheartened and lost because of how much AM! used to mean to you, I suggest you cope with the loss and move on, as I am.
To the new fans and the fans of the new, I hope that you are lucky enough to experience this new AM! with as much passion as I experienced the old. Then everyone has won.
Lethbridge is the commercial, financial, transportation and industrial centre of southern Alberta. The city's economy developed from drift mining for coal in the late 19th century and agriculture in the early 20th century. Half of the workforce is employed in the health, education, retail and hospitality sectors, and the top five employers are government-based. The only university in Alberta south of Calgary is in Lethbridge, and two of the three colleges in southern Alberta have campuses in the city. Cultural venues in the city include performing art theatres, museums and sports centres.
smug fuckers suck. stop acting like you're in the band. brown nosers, fuck off. get your tongues out of his arsehole. The heartbroken, relax. it's just a fucking band. (besides, AM! has sucked for many years, shouldn't you be over it by now?)
if you say White Crosses or New Wave is better than Crime of the S/T LP, just go to hell. you're a moron who just started listening to the band when they went to shit. you weren't there for the good days, don't pretend like you even understand.
and Tom shouldn't complain about the constant criticism of his work. at least people give a fuck. doesn't it mean something if your music could either genuinely excite or absolutely crush a person? AM! has made an unforgettable impact on a the lucky few, but this album will never mean that much to you dumbfucks. i've never seen such fierce debate and controversy over a band. it's amazing. it really is.
but you potential hipsters, YOU JUST WEREN'T THERE FOR THE MAGIC. DEAL WITH IT. Go see them play at Bonaroo. HAHA. watch "I Like To Hang Out" or "We're Never Going Home" and tell me you had as much fun seeing them open for the Foo Fighters.
And hey, c'mon. from a totally unbiased position, man, this record is terrible. and the lyrics are god awful. i would've thought lyrics would enhance with age. but jesus christ. a bunch of people singing along to these lyrics is just comical. just compare the lyrics of any song off of RAR and tell me it compares to "associate with vulnerability." if you do, piss off.
punks rule. tom gabel beats up crust lords, uses quotes from Civil Disobedience (that band is kinda... tacky, i don't care what Nick Viau says), makes fun of norms for not knowing Discharge, wears a Crass patch on EC, sold me a S/T LP for $10 (it has a pretty sweet DK-style insert book), and used to be chubby, so whatever.
Hi stomack problems are very common cause the feeding is poor and not at the regular hrs that is why many people have gastritis if belly hurts eat better .
This is unrelated, but the post title reminded me of the rural alberta advantage (check them out). Do you have plans to put out anymore solo stuff? I've been listening to a mix of white crosses and heart burns this week and now that I have new against me! to savour, I've been wondering about what's to come for you.
i heard a rumor that you have an account on a very popular bit torrent site, and you leak all your albums yourself... im gonna buy it eitherway :)
Tom,
You are a legend in my book for not throwing a fit at "White Crosses" leaking. Also it is a freaking fantastic album, definitely album of the year material. The only other album I can think of to contest this is Story Of The Year's "The Constant." And while I love both albums I have to say "White Crosses" wins out overall :D Keep writing great music Tom you are a genius.
I would like to say thanks for letting me post here, your topic is very interesting I want to find out more about it
I LOVE White Crosses! I really do. The first time I heard it, I wasn't sure what to think just because it's so different from all the rest of your music. But the more I listened to the songs, the more that I could hear your passion and angst in the lyrics... which are two of the things I have always looked for in your music. I'm sorry there are so many haters. Sometimes people cannot accept change. I understand that you have grown up and your sound has changed. I have been a fan of you for years and even have lyrics from "Walking is Still Honest" tattooed on my body. I love you guys THAT much. Just know that you have loyal and devoted fans who accept and love you even when your sound changes some. Amazing job on the new record. Please don't ever stop making music. You are the most INSPIRATIONAL band I have ever heard.
They've got great lyrics and the video for teenage anarchist is amazing PE exercises
Wow! Excellent job posting lyrics and responding to the unfortunate news of your leak Mr. Gabel. I still have yet to get around to figuring out my own lyrics to post proper finished versions of them; maybe in a few years I'll do that.
I would like to appreciate the great work done by You

I actually posted a comment on this album a few months ago, I can't find it now, but I said something like, "it's good but it's not great". Not that exactly, but words to that effect. I'd actually like to take this opportunity to eat my words. I've had this record on in my car on the way to work and have seen you on tour with it. I've basically had the opportunity to listen to it proper, and I'm sorry for what I said cos it's absolutly amazing. Really have a lot of respect for AM! as a band, so I felt I needed to clear the air, not that anyone cares. But I do, so there ya go.
